Arctic Blast Broke Pipes – Khouri’s Responded

Pipes froze and broke flooding homes. Khouri’s Rug Cleaning responded when the frigid blast of cold air blew into Massachusetts Friday night. Driven by powerful arctic winds, temperatures on Cape Cod dropped below zero to -10 degrees overnight. Making it worse, windchills reached a bone chilling -25 to -35 degrees.

The arctic blast not only broke the all-time record of -2 degrees for the date set back in 1886, the intensely cold temperatures broke pipes which froze solid in many area residents homes. The next day as temperatures climbed, plumbers from all over the area were bombarded with phone calls. The broken pipes were flooding homes and saturating everything, especially rugs.

Khouri’s Rug Cleaning in Mashpee was slammed with phone calls too! Residents and customers whose priceless oriental heirloom rugs were now underwater needed help fast. Khouri’s is a 100-year-old company with a widely recognized reputation for their expertise in the cleaning, repair and restoration of highly valuable area rugs.

As soon the phones rang, Khouri’s fleet of trucks started rolling out headed to homes all over southeastern Massachusetts to retrieve the saturated rugs and rush them back to their facility to take the best action to save and preserve each rug depending on the type and age of each particular rug.

In times of emergencies, Khouri’s Rug Company could be considered as a rug emergency responder and their facility a rug hospital. When bad things happen to valuable rugs it is important that they be properly treated as soon as possible to mitigate the potential damage.
